Many iphone owners do not know how to set a ringtone or even how to get ringtones on to the iphone.
I put together a pretty straight guide that will explain how to get a ringtone to your phone.
1. The ringtone file must be in .m4r format. To download and create ringtones in the m4r format I reccomend brinked.com (free iphone ringtones).
2. When you have the .m4r file that you want to set as a ringtone, double click it. This will open it up in itunes.
3. Click on your iphone name to browse your iphone.
4. Click on the “Ringtones” tab. Make sure the checkbox for the ringtone and for “synch ringtones” is checked.
5. Sync your iphone. When you unplug the usb from your iphone, you should now have that ringtone on your phone. To find out, just try to set a ringtone to one of your contacts.
There are other ways to get ringtones on your iphone such as 3rd party applications but this is the easiest and we know that itunes will not install a virus on your computer or anything like that.
Below you will find a nice little flash widget that I grabbed from brinked.com. Click on the “ringtone maker” tab to make your very own ringtone from a mp3 file you a youtube video URL. Or just do a search for a ringtone you want, chances are they have it already.

That is really cool. I have never heard of brinked before reading this article but I am now going to use them over myxer. I like that they deal only with ringtones where as other similar sites have a lot of clutter I have no interest in ie wallpapers, games etc.
